About your counselor

I have a passion for helping others and have reached the point in life where this gives me meaning and purpose.

Creating a therapeutic relationship to help you overcome both past and present challenges is where the true miracles happen in life today. I am a highly trained and educated therapist with life experience helping to create a non-judgmental atmosphere for counseling sessions.  Living in the "and" helps us work through hard events together while having some fun working towards goals. My practice is on the Denton  which a great place to grab a bite to eat or go for a walk spending time to apply connecting skills after sessions.

I perform adult therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and help older teens navigate their direction. I want to help you develop better communication skills and emotional intelligence that create conflict resolution and increase intimacy to help create safe and healthy relationships in your life.

Behavioral skills will need practice and are a critical developmental tool helping with anxiety and depression treatment. Most of our issues can be traced back to ambiguous losses or relational losses that create a disconnect with the Self  making it hard to live and appreciate the present.

If you are interested, schedule an appointment through the link below.

You will receive documents upon accepted appointment request to easily complete prior to session. Please ensure you have the Informed Consent accepted before session.

My supervisor brings 30 years of counseling experience as a counselor, supervisor, and a clinical owner/director. Darlene now spends her time giving back to the field which she loves by supervising persons like myself.

Other silly stuff: I have bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering and Accounting  then somehow got a Maters in Data science where I chose to teach at TWU. I got to break things at Texas A&M doing research and development for the transportation industry. Many of these are in practical use today which means I worked with a lot smarter people than me:) I spent over a decade in corporate america travelling the country meaning I've been to every state but four. They even sent me up to Newfoundland where I was told that it was the only way to get into the US after 9/11. I played Ultimate in college and club league until I couldn't run, then switched to disc golf. I also like to mountain bike and have to admit I am a little out of shape for that today.

Final goof photo: Me and my brother pretending to be James Bond at a wedding. Look out Hollywood🤔
